Toilet Roll Tubes
Scrapbook Supplies:
- Empty toilet paper tubes (three to five makes a nice full scrapbook)
- Scrapbook paper, wrapping paper, newspaper, magazine pages, etc. to cover tubes
- Scissors
- Adhesive (acid free glue, double sided tape, staples, etc.)
- Binder rings to connect the tubes
- Embellishments (ribbon, stickers, photos, etc.)
Instructions:
Take your cleaned up toilet rolls and flatten them. Use the bone folder, butter knife, or fingers to firmly crease the folds so that they are as flat as you can make them.
Measure your flattened roll to get the 'roll length' and the 'roll width'.
Cut a piece of scrapbook paper, patterned cardstock, or whatever paper you are using to be:
roll length + 1″ by 2 x roll width, then add on an extra 1″
Glue the paper around the flattened roll, cutting in on the corners and folding inside to make a neat cover.
Do this with each roll.
Make tags and inserts to slip in and out of the rolls. Embellish the outside with stickers, ribbon, tags, etc.
Use a single hole punch on each roll, usually in the center on one edge, to make the connecting hole. Once each roll is embellished you can connect the rolls with a binder ring, twine, ribbon, any fastener of your choice as long as it is strong enough to hold several rolls together.
